Who say you can't enjoy cheese sandwiches when eating raw?!?!??!

This is what I had for lunch today, didn't really use measurements (as usual) but here we go

Mexican cheeze spread
1 C soaked cashews
a bit of chili
1 clove of garlic
juice of 1 lemon
a small bunch of fresh coriander
turmeric
paprika
salt
tamari
nutritional yeast flakes approx 2-3 T
Mexican chili powder
cumin
a little bit of water

Mix the cashews and the lemon juice until smooth, add spices, let sit for a little bit and then serve on crackers or in my case baby cos lettuce leaves!

Green tomato soup
1 big tomato
1 handful cherry tomatoes
coriander
handful spinach
tamari
a small bit of onion

Blend and serve!

That cheeze turned out just amazing and I had no idea it would go so well on cos lettuce.

Raw food makes me so happy!

Yesterday I was 100% raw. The day before I was 80%. But lately in general I have had bad days :( But as a wise man once said Even monkeys fall.

Yesterday was the first day in a little while where I was 100% raw and I felt such happiness, I was out of this world, like taking happy pill, and all I did was making some raw ice cream and raw chocolate goji/sunflower squares! My life feels so much easier and I am GLOWING again :)

Anyway, the raw ice cream I made I pretty much followed the recipe below except from I just used only water, no cashew milk, and I added cacao, lucuma and cacao nibs. AMAZING!!! I love raw ice cream so so so much.

Now, I am munching on water melon, which is my favorite fruit :)

Happy days!

Raw egg noodle stir alive

Just came up with this recipe, it's one of the most delish meals I have ever tried! It taste exactly like a 'real' noodle dish.

I didn't really use measurements but you can't get it wrong! :)

Raw egg noodle stir alive
2 zucchinis medium size
a bunch of mint
a bunch of coriander
handful of snow peas
a handful of mushrooms ( I used dried oyster mushrooms, only thing I had home)
half a yellow bell pepper
1 T dulse falkes
1 T tamari
1 T sesame oil
1 piece of fresh chili
1 clove of garlic
handful of spinach

Make noodles out of the zucchini either with a spiralizlicer or cheese cutter or your favorite way. Cut the vegetables in various sizes. Massage everything in a bowl until "cooked" looking and marinated properly, gently heat it in a waterbath or the dehydrator.

Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Headache!!!

Lately I have been doing really bad with sticking to eating raw 80% of the time, and believe me, I can FEEL it! This whole week I have suffered from headaches, tiredness and lack of energy and joy. I am currently trying to be raw 80 % of the time, and some days 100%. It's very interesting how you start to look at food, food that you considered healthy is now giving you headaches, when you meet other people and hear their opinions about what is healthy you just wanna shake them and tell them you're so wrong!!! But you can't because they wouldn't believe you. If I told them that their cereals with skimmed milk and bread with light cheese is bad for you they would just look at me like I was an idiot.

Then I have realized that just because something has been consumed forever and being used daily in our lives, doesn't mean is it good for us. Like fluoride tooth paste!

Sometime ago I read this little line, and it has really help me, imagine what a few words can do! I don't remember who said it, could have been Russel James,

Even monkeys fall
Which basically means, even though you're not perfect and have you moments when you eat sad food, pick yourself up and be good again, don't make one failure lead to another, which I am really bad at, but I do really work on it, and if you have the same problems you should as well!

Good morning!

Went to the gym last night did body pump and body balance. I was so tiered when I got home and passed out on the bed pretty much straight away. Was starving when I woke up so I made myself a Chocolate smoothie, I soooo love these chocolate smoothies.

This is what I had in mine today, was AMAZING
Thick and creamy Chocolate smoothie
2 bananas
1 T Maca
1 T Mesquite
1 T agave
small handful of gojis
1 C water and ice
1-2 T cacao

Blend sprinkle cacao nibs on top and enjoy!

An interesting thought.
When it comes to training and raw food, it's always heaps of discussions. Whether you can eat 100% raw and still go to the gym, or do you get enough protein etc etc. Has it ever crossed your mind that people on a "normal diet" get all their protein from animal products and that however is very hard to digest, and not all that protein get absorbed by the body. When you eat a lot of raw vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts you not only get natural protein but you get amino acids which in your body will create protein (if you eat all the essential ones of course, the one your body can't produce), a lot of raw foods contains all of the essential amino acids.

If you're worried about not getting enough protein increase the intake of these:
Sea vegetables such as spirulina, chlorella, dulse, wakame, nori etc.
Raw protein powder, I use Sun warriors biofermented brown rice protein powder
Hemp seeds, unfortunately I can't get them here in Australia :(
Nuts and seeds in general
Dark green leaf vegetables (contains a lot of amino acids)
Mesquite powder and gojiberries

Really focus on the green stuff :) It makes wonders. I tried yesterday with just adding chlorella to my water bottle, and I have to say it's not bad, doesn't have an over powered flavor. If you don't like everything you eat to be green and just wanna enjoy a fruit smoothie you can just make a bit extra smoothie pour the excess smoothie into a little glass add the greens to that, drink and then have your nongreen smoothie afterwards.

Yacon syrup

Have been updating very bad lately I know, but I have been working and being busy. Anyway, I though I would write a little bit about my new favorite: Yacon syrup

Yacon syrup is an natural sweetener which is low in calories, GI and carbohydrates. It is build up mainly of fructooligosacaride (FOS) which the human body is lacking enzymes for, which means I'll will go through undigested. The undigested portion of yacón serves as food for “friendly” bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus species, in the colon. Other benefits from yacon syrup are increasing absorption of magnesium and calcium, elimination of toxins, increasing bone density, one of the highest levels of potassium found in any plant, contains all the essential amino acids, high in calcium, magnesium, phosphor and iron. There is a lot more other properties of yacon syrup.

Taste: It is not as sweet as agave, it has a very rich flavor a little bit liqourishy almost, even though I HATE liquorish, I LOVE yacon.

And as all other super foods It's Peruvian :)

Raw Cookie dough Ice cream! Just like Ben&Jerry's but BETTER

Today I have made MAGIC in the kitchen. I used to LOVE Ben & Jerry's cookie dough, it was sooo yummy! It was my favorite. For a long time I have made these excellent Raw chocolate nibs (chips) cookies and I though what If I manage to make a sick raw ice cream and then combine these two? That was what happened today , and OMG SO GOOOD!!

Here is the recipe, Have to share the love!

For the vanilla Ice Cream
1 C cashews soaked or unsoaked doesn't matter
1,5 C water
1 C cashew mylk
1 whole vanilla bean (put the whole bean in)
1/2 C raisins
1/2 C agave light or if you use the dark one a bit less
2 small chunks of cacao butter
a pinch of salt

Blend in a high speed blender until smooth, then put it in a ice cream maker or your favorite way to make ice cream.

For the chocolate nibs cookies
I never measure this recipe but this is my guess, too simple you can't make it wrong :)
2 C oat "flour"
1-1.5 C cashew "flour"
2-3 T coconut butter
agave after taste
a pinch of salt (optional) taste awesome without to be honest
cacao nibs a handful

Mix everything in a high speed blender/food processor except the cacao nibs.
When the dough is smooth put it in a bowl and add the cacao nibs, mix by hand and add a little bit of love:)

Use some of the dough for making cookies (which can be dehydrated, I eat them as they are and I love them that way) and roll small balls with the rest and mix in to the already made ice cream, put in the freezer to firm up a bit (If you can manage) otherwise just eat straight away!
Hope you enjoy it as much as myself!

Raw cream of Orange soup & Raw Protein bars

This is one of my favorite soups of all times, I LOVE IT!

Cream of Orange Soup by Shazzie
juice of 4 oranges
1/2 - 1 Avocado
1 little piece of ginger
zest of 1 lemon

Blend til smooth. Enjoy!
Serve with cashew or macadamia cream on top!
soooo good

Can up with a quite successful protein bar recipe before, turned out to be soo yummy, unfortunately, I have run out of cacao!!! I know, end of the world!!! Otherwise I bet they would have turned out even greater :)

This is what I used to make 4:
2 scoops Sun Warrior protein powder
a small handful of soaked almonds
2 T Maca
3 Medjool dates
1 T Mesquite powder
1-2 T yacon syrup
half a teaspoon of each cinamon and nutmeg
1 T cacao butter
pinch of salt

Blend, shape in to 4 bars, wrap in cling film, take them when in a rush or whenever, eat, feel good, enjoy!

Raw yummy Protein smoothie

Good morning! Today I started the day with 30 min running/jogging then I had some orange juice with crushed gojiberries and a pear on the side, then I jumped into the shower and now I am enjoying a 100% total raw protein shake!

Raw Protein smoothie
1 C cashew mylk ( water works fine )
0,5 C water
1 scoop Sun warrior protein powder
1 T mesquite powder
1 T chia seeds or "flour"
1 T yacon syrup
a bit of a vanilla bean (had some left over piece from yesterday used the seeds yesterday and had just the "shell" left, you can use that to mix in with your mylk, waste to throw it out)

Blend and enjoy!

The protein powder I use is from Sun warrior it's 100% vegan raw. You can buy three different flavors natural, chocolate, vanilla. I have only used the natural, so I can mix in what ever flavor I am up for! The protein powder is made from bio fermented brown rice. You get 16g of protein per serving, it has a 98% correlation rate to mothers milk and a 98.2% digestion efficiency. It contains all essential amino acids plus a few more.

Now I gonna experiment making a raw protein bar, good to take when you're in a rush or have in your bag for your lunch break when there is no fridges to store your lunch box (working in hospitality, when you get to eat there)

Green Juice

God Morning! Today I started the day with some greeeen juice. I use one of these manual juicers, takes a while to make juice and your arm get tiered after a while but it's well worth it :)
In my green juice today I had very dark leave spinach (don't remember the name, but a type of spinach), a bunch of celery, a piece of ginger and 2 pears, however, the pears was quite soft so I didn't manage to squeeze a lot of juice from them, became all mushy in the juicer. It is so beautiful though, gives your amazing energy!

GojiBerries

My love for gojiis is strong, been eating it regularly for over 2 years. It was love at first taste. It was WOW.
Here am I munching on gojis in bed. yumyumyum

When we're in China, I was hoping to find fresh gojis, I asked the tour guide (she was Chinese) She said that you can't get the fresh, and she thought I was weired because I ate them just out of the bag. Apparently, they only use them in tea.

Hope you're having an lovely Saturday night. I gonna relax, maybe do a chocolate face mask and work on my little project :)

Nighty!

Green juices & smoothies

It's just recently I have got in to green juices and smoothies, and I was shocked the first time I tried it. It was thick smoothie like and GREEN! How can a green drink taste good I asked myself. I closed my eyes and tasted heaven. I had just read Victoria Boutenko's book Green for life, and it has actually changed my life. Never though a book could affect me that deep and that much, but it truly has. If you get a chance, read it.

Here is some of my favorite combinations.(The variety of greens where I am living isn't the best, unfortunately, but we'll be moving in 2 months time so I am hoping for more options then)
When I make Green juice I like to use pears or apples as a base then a big bunch of greens and some of mint or a piece of fresh ginger to juice as well. I LOVE to put fresh ginger in my juice, makes it so delish! My favorite combo is HEAPS of celery, half a big bunch, 2 apples or pears and a piece of ginger.
When I make Green smoothies I use mango and bananas as a base (makes it very creamy) and a handful of gojiberries plus a big bunch of greens. Haven't been able to get a big variety of fruit and veggies to experiment with, but this is better than nothing :)

If you're new to green juices and smoothies, start with small amounts of greens, the best ones to start with would be spinach, kale, romaine lettuce. just a handful or 2, then add more and more ones you get use to it.

Starter recipe.
1 banana
1 mango
2 handfuls of greens
1 C purified water

Blend in a high speed blender! ENJOY!

Suuuuuperfoods: MACA LUCUMA CHLORELLA

What does it mean when something is classified as superfood?
When something is classified as superfood is means that the "thing" is absolutely packed with nutrients. Here is some examples:
Raw organic cocoa powder has a ORAC score of over 90 000!!! ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance capacity which measures antioxidant levels in products.
Let's compare Raw cacao powders ORAC with more "common" foods, just to give you an idea over high in antioxidants it is. Lets take blueberries, everyone has been told that blueberries are really HIGH in antioxidants, ORAC of 6552.
Gojiberries is another food I LOVE and consume daily, what so special about them? Apart from that they contain 11.7% protein, have all the essential amino acids, up to 21 trace minerals, richest source of carotenoids (more beta-carotene than carrots), Vitamin B1, B2, B6, E and on top of everything 500 times more Vitamin C than oranges by weight!! CRAZY

Now back to Maca, Lucuma and chlorella.
Maca powder comes from the maca root which grows is Peru on 4000 meters above sea level in the Andean district of Junin. It is grown by the Pumpush people, who have been growing and consuming maca for thousands of years. Apart from the fact that maca is packed with nutrients, it contains very unique alkaloids which stimulate the master glands that in turn helps balance the whole endocrine system. So if you have any hormone problems, add maca powder to your diet, it may help you. I like to mix in maca powder with my smoothies and raw chocolate!! It's such a perfect combination.
Lucuma is from Peru as well. It's known as the "Gold of the Incas" and consider one of it lost crops. Lucuma is an excellent source of carbohydrates, fibers, vitamins, minerals, niacin (B3), iron and beta-carotene.
I love mixing lucuma powder into my raw desserts, goes well in everything, cakes, chocolate, ice creams, pie, smoothies, puddings you name it! It has such a divine flavor and makes everything very creamy, yum!
Chlorella been around on the planet for about 2 billion years, so it's a tough little fellow. It contains large amount of chlorophyll and is a very good cleanser for your body as it drags the nasty heavy metals out with you. What a lovely friend Chlorella is, really takes care of you. It's known to cleans the bowels, aid the liver function and keep the bloodstream free from waste. And on top over everything it contains a lot of nutrients. Love it, eat it , feel it! Mix into smoothies or your water to drink during the day.

Be a superhero, eat superfoods!

Raw wakame Salad

Back from a busy morning

Sitting here in my bed and have just finished off a BIG green smoothie with kale, bananas, raspberries and some frozen grapes that I found. Now I am indulging myself with a Wakame salad! YUM!!!
about 15-20 grams dried wakame (follow instructions)
1 clove of garlic
1 bit of chili
1 T sesame oil (cold pressed)
1 T sesame seeds
a splash of Tamari

Finly chop the garlic and slice the chili very thin. Cut the soaked and drained wakame into strips. Mix everything in a bowl and and the sesame seeds and oil! Enjoy

Good Morning!

Still raw,,, :) It is so lovely to wake up and feel great!
Gonna have a very busy morning so I better get myself ready soon.
Take the ferry into Newcastle--> Do Body Pump--> Go to Centrelink with a form--> Go to the health store and buy Wakame (I AM CRAVING SEA VEGETABLES)!!!!! even dreamed about it LOL--> Go back to the gym and do Body balance!

Enyoing a smoothie at the moment with 1 banana, 1 apple, 1 T Lucuma 1 T Maca and a hand ful of gojiberries RAW ENERGY! And then as I did yesterday poured the excess smoothie in to a small glass and put a couple of teaspoons of chlorella in it.

Gonna write a little bit later about Maca, Lucuma and continue about Chlorella!

Until then,,,,
Take care

Uncooked non-fried beans & mushrooms

For lunch I made
Shazzie's non-fried beans with some minor changes.
And then I made some non-fried mushrooms, really simple and absolutely beautiful. You basically just slice as many mushrooms as you want, place them in a bowl cover with tamari soy, or at least gently massage the mushrooms with tamari put in the dehydrator or owen ( ON THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE ) for about 1-2 hours.

I served it on a bed with mixed lettuce, snow peas, cherry tomatoes and sprinkled some nutritional yeast on top for a "Mexican plate" hihi

Was soooo goood! Gonna make this very very soon again!

Raw day 6

God morning!
Today I started my day with a green juice (cucumber and celery) then I did 20 min yoga and then I went to the fruit shop. Unfortunately, they don't sell organic fruits and vegs there :( and I don't have a car so that's my only option at the moment.

Anyway, I bought a fairly big piece of pineapple which I mixed with handful of gojiberries and juice of 2 oranges. It became quite a lot of smoothie (couldn't fit all in my glass so I poured some in a separate little glass and added chlorella powder to it about 2 teaspoons. Bought it recently but today was the first time I tried it. It contains even more chlorophyll than spirulina!! Which is very good if you're doing a detox. Taste-vise, I think I prefer spirulina i smoothies, not that chlorella had ha bad taste it just have a much stronger sea weed flavor, which I don't reckon goes as well with sweet fruits as spirulina. And as with all other superfoods it is packed with vitamins, minerals, protein, antioxidants. Gonna do some more research about chlorella and write a more specific description of it.

Have a juicy day!

My day

Just when I had finished the crust for my Raw Pistachio and Lemon cheeze cake and was about to do the cheeze they called in from work as asked me if I wanted to come in. Now I am home and I finished them off, have a feeling they gonna be AMAZING.

Before I made them I made Raw Goji chili Chocolate, which turned out to be heavenly.
Gonna save this recipe for my ebook :)

Thought I would share the cheeze cake recipe with you! Both me and my boyfriend LOVED IT

Raw Lemon and Pistachio Cheeze Cake

For the crust:
3 medjool dates
1/2 C pistachios
optional pinch of himalayan crystal salt)

Blend in a food processor or high speed blender until smooth. But the mixture in a pie dish or individual molds.

For the cheeze:
1/4 C cashew nuts (soaked for at least 6 hours)
2-3 T agave (depending on how sweet you want it) I used 2
1 T coconut oil
1/4 C water
LARGE handful of pistachios
Juice and peel of 1 Lemon

Blend everything in a high speed blender until very smooth, scoop over the crust and freeze at least 2.5 hours, depending on how thick they are

For thicker cheeze cake double the amount of cheeze mixture, they become fairly thin with just one batch. Still heavenly good though :)

Enjoy!
xo

Good Morning! Raw day 5

I woke up at 6.30 today, feeling wide awake, it's a weired but really pleasant feeling.
Living on raw food just gives me so much energy and during those few hours that I sleep I am sleeping like a baby.

There was no fruits in the house today except for some strawberries in the fridge so I went out got a couple of bananas and made up a Strawberry Chocolate Mint smoothie for breakie! Was lovely. I used strawberries, bee pollen, cocoa, carob powder, mint and bananas and a little bit of ice and some water. Finished off with a wheat grass shot.

Bee Pollen is one of my newest discoveries. Although, I have known about it for a while I have never really tried it until a week ago. For you who haven't heard about it here is a little bit of information.

Bee pollen is a very powerful superfood and is considered to be one of the most complete foods found in nature. It contains all the essential amino acids, A B C and D vitamin, minerals such as calcium, zinc, barium, boron, selenium, iron, magnesium, iodine, manganese, sodium, phosphorus, copper and potassium, and to shine even more it is an alkaline food. One bad thing about bee pollen is that it can cause allergic reactions, so If you are sensitive to bee products you may wanna consult with a specialist before trying it.

Have a Rawsome day!

I started my detox on Saturday, decided that I had to do something because I felt so run down, depressed, low energy levels, bad skin etc etc.

This is day for and I just feel sooooo GOOOOOD!!!!!
Even though, I have a lot of stessy-things on my mind I am feeling remarkably better.

Yesterday I did a 24 hours water fast and I was surprised over how well it went! I stopped eating the night before around 6 and then I didn't eat until 6 a'clock the day after, then I enjoyed a LOT of water melon (which tasted just amazing) and some raw naughty chocolates :D

Today for breakfast I had
Mango-Strawberry pudding with chocolate sauce

Mix by hand and drizzle it over your pudding! Enjoy!

Usually in the mornings I have a green protein smoothie which consists: 1 scoop of Sunwarrior natural protein powder
1 T mesquite
1 heaped T spirulina
1 T bee pollen
1 heaped T chia flower
1 C water

Blend in a high speed blender

My Raw Pink Pasta with Pink Sauce
